Two-day Meeting on
Internal Combustion Engine Simulations Using OpenFOAM® Technology

11 – 12 July 2011, Department of Energy, Politecnico di Milano

This meeting was organized for all the engineers and researchers using the OpenFOAM® technology to simulate thermo and fluid-dynamic processes in internal combustion engines. During the first meeting day, presentations from different research groups and companies provided a detailed overview of the current state of art of I.C. engine modeling using OpenFOAM® technology: combustion, gas exchange, intake/exhaust systems (including also exhaust after-treatment and silencers). The second day intended to encourage collaborations among different users and developers. To this end, BoF sessions were organized to identify common topics of interests (test-cases, benchmarks, suggestions and expectations from non-OpenFOAM users, new developments).

Presentations of meeting are available for download.
